Hey guys, I finished my first high resolution portrait for the horde. It shows the boss of the wild tribes, Gnar ‘Zhak. More will show up soon.
The water fortress
Hey guys, I finished a little mood painting for my private project “the horde”. I am quite not sure if I should keep working on it, so I will ignore the painting one or two days to get some distance to it.
Anyway how do you like it?
Become a patron for the horde
Good morning brothers of the horde!
I started my on patreon programm for the horde. If you are interested in this project, feel free to donate a little gold to my patreon account and become an exclusive patron of the horde. I will try to improve my rewards from time to time, as soon as I see the project growing.
You can help to keep the progress of this epic journey grow faster.
Primary I will use your help to create my art, but if possible I want also try to write short stories and produce some audio versions of it. So you can dive deep into my world of brutal battles.
Aiming for the look
So, I tried to figure out how my orcs should look like, the first head sketches helped me to fix some ugly face issues I had with this painting earlier. To be true, it wasn’t this bad, but it lacked a little bit of aggressiveness. So I added some more sharp tooth’s and less “lips” to him, to achieve kinda “his jaw is just for bitting your flesh”- feeling.
Step by step
Good morning guys, I did a little “step by step” picture how I tried to develop my first goblin. The rough sketch looks really shitty and I had no idea how it will look, but after I finished the first few values the overall head shape turned out quite well. What do you guys think?
You can see the final result in my gallery! 😉
Starting to sketch
So, today I moved a little back from my normal work progress and start to sketch a little bit more. I feel very comfortable to explore some styles without thinking about, light, values or colors. My first sketchy scribbles are focused about the head design of the “average” orc.
First I wanted to make them not so big and heavy, but I believe it’s important that I don’t move to far away from the feeling of orcs everybody is familiar with. Anyway, I will try to add a pint of “special” to them.
Helmets we need, URKS!
Hey guys,
I did some early helmet explorations, based on some “classic” viking designs. So here are some of my first props fresh made out of the forge of fire. The helmets should be made out of looted and/ or bad self forged things. Because I want my orcs to be focused on brute strength and less on armor and helmets.
I think I will do some more different styles, perhaps with less iron and more bones, fabrics and wood. Stay tuned!
Welcome to my new project
Welcome to my new project “the horde”. From now on, I will try to make the world of orcs & goblins bigger, deeper & more interesting. I want to show more of the orcish culture, how they live and how their social structures work. I want to explore this world as a artist and fan of this underrated beings.
I would be happy if everybody would take some minutes and help me take further steps into my own world …
So if you have some free time, feel free to enjoy our journey!
